How to stop Dave from taking money?

There are two ways to cancel your Dave account:

1. Via the app: settle any balances, transfer any remaining funds to your external bank account, and download any tax documents. Then log in to the Dave app, go to Settings, select 'Edit Profile', choose 'Close my Dave Account', and confirm that you want to close all your financial accounts with Dave.
2. Via email: send an email to support@dave.com at least 3 business days before your next subscription fee is charged. Include your full name, account number, and the telephone number associated with your account. Clearly state that you wish to close the account immediately and request confirmation.

Make sure to cancel at least 3 business days before your next subscription fee is charged to avoid being billed for the next month.

Note that deleting the app will not end your membership or stop the subscription fee.

After analyzing hundreds of reviews posted in June and July 2025, we found multiple users expressing frustration about stopping Dave from taking money from their accounts, even after attempting to cancel subscriptions or close accounts.
