How to delete Cleo cash advance app

Last Updated: Aug 06, 2026

If you want to remove Cleo from your phone, you can delete the app like any other app. Just keep in mind that deleting the app alone does not cancel your subscription or close your account, so you’ll need to take a few extra steps if you want to stop future charges.

Delete the app without affecting your account

Removing the app from your device is straightforward, but it only takes Cleo off your phone. Your subscription can still remain active, and billing may continue unless you cancel it separately.

Cancel your subscription first

To avoid future charges, cancel your Cleo subscription before deleting the app.

  1. [[1]] Open your profile: Open Cleo and go to your profile.
  2. [[2]] Go to subscriptions: Tap Subscriptions and choose Unsubscribe from Cleo Plus. If you use Cleo Builder, open Manage Cleo Builder and tap Unsubscribe.
  3. [[3]] Confirm the cancellation: Make sure the cancellation goes through before your next billing date so you do not get charged again.

Revoke payment authorization if needed

If you want extra protection against future billing, email support and ask them to revoke payment authorization.

  1. [[1]] Contact support: Email team@meetcleo.com and say you want to revoke authorization to withdraw payment.
  2. [[2]] Request account closure: If you also want your account closed, include that in the same message.
  3. [[3]] Keep a record: Save the email and any reply in case you need proof of your request later.

Delete your Cleo account and data

If you want to fully delete your account and the personal information Cleo holds, use the in-app deletion option or contact the data protection team.

  1. [[1]] Use Ask Cleo: Open Ask Cleo, tap your profile icon, and select Your details.
  2. [[2]] Delete the account: Tap Delete your account at the bottom of the page.
  3. [[3]] Email for data deletion: For requests involving personal data, email DPO@meetcleo.com and include your full details. Cleo may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request.

Timing, refunds, and balance checks

Cancel as early as possible before your renewal date if you want to avoid the next charge. If you cancel within 30 days of signing up, you may be eligible for a refund, but requesting a physical Cleo Card during that period can make you ineligible. Refunds usually go back to the card used for signup and can take up to 4 business days, and any remaining balance or active advance should be cleared before you try to close the account.

Summary

Delete the app only if you just want it off your phone, but cancel your subscription first if you want to stop charges. For a full account deletion, use Ask Cleo or email team@meetcleo.com, and contact DPO@meetcleo.com if you need personal data removed.
