How to delete Earnin cash advance app

Last Updated: Nov 13, 2025

Deleting your EarnIn account takes only a few minutes, but you must perform the steps in the correct order to stop future withdrawals entirely. Follow the checklist below, then review the extra details that cover timing, what happens to your data, and how to fix anything that goes wrong.

Quick closure checklist

  1. Pay outstanding advances: Settle any cash-out balance so the account shows zero owed.
  2. Open EarnIn and request closure: Tap the ≡ icon, select your name, choose Close My Account, and complete the prompts until a confirmation screen appears.
  3. Revoke ACH authorization via chat: While still in the app, open Chat Support, type “Immediately revoke ACH authorization”, and wait for the agent to confirm at least three business days before your next scheduled debit.
  4. Remove the app from your phone: On iPhone long-press the EarnIn icon then Remove App → Delete App; on Android go to Settings → Apps → EarnIn → Uninstall → OK.
  5. Optional bank stop-payment: Call your bank and ask them to block any further withdrawals labeled EarnIn for extra peace of mind.

Why repayment comes first

EarnIn will not display the Close My Account button until every advance is fully repaid. Once the balance reaches zero, the option appears automatically and the app lets you proceed with closure.

Timing reminders

  • Revoking ACH authority in chat takes up to three business days to propagate, so send the request well before the next payday.
  • If you prefer to keep the account open but just disable Autopay, flip that switch by 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET the business day before the scheduled debit.
  • Banks often need one business day to process a stop-payment order, so make the call as soon as your closure confirmation arrives.

What to expect after closure

  • The bank account you unlinked is permanently blocked from future EarnIn use.
  • Any Tip Yourself balance is pushed to the same bank account; if that fails, EarnIn mails a check to your address on file.
  • A confirmation email lands in your inbox; save it in case a withdrawal appears later and you need proof of revocation.

If a charge still posts

  • Reach EarnIn support through in-app chat or email support@earnin.com and cite the unauthorized debit.
  • Show your bank the closure confirmation and request a refund under the unauthorized ACH rule (Regulation E).
  • Escalate to a formal dispute if the bank or EarnIn does not reverse the charge promptly.

Save any records before leaving

  • Once the account closes you lose access to past cash-out history, fees, and Tip Yourself transactions.
  • Download any statements or take screenshots needed for budgeting, tax, or reimbursement purposes.
  • Note that reopening the same profile later is not possible, so make sure all documentation you might need is stored elsewhere.

That’s the entire process: repay, close in-app, revoke ACH, uninstall, and optionally stop-pay at the bank. Completing each step in order prevents EarnIn from pulling money again and permanently severs the link to your bank account.
